too bad there aren't more bars in listed areas, perhaps than there would be more active patrols. if you do the speed limit between ludington and scottville, you'll get passed by everybody including police vehicles.

I would be interested to know the average age of the drivers in the wrecks in this county on the posted intersections. I would be willing to bet that in at least 75% of these accidents at least one of the participants is 70 years old or older.

Interesting data-- it shows that Mason County's top two accident intersections has at least as many accidents as the top 13 accident areas in Oceana County, even though the populations of both are fairly close. Looking at Engineering, Enforcement and Education could all be useful for Mason County for reducing accidents. Enforcement particularly, as police cars routinely break the traffic laws here, while also allowing vehicles to strike 88 y.o. women crossing the street and vehicles striking motorcycles and bicycles with no tickets issued. What do they do, you ask? They ticket bicyclists who yield the right of way properly at intersections and close down skateboard parks for being messy. Public safety? Oh give me a break.

"Amber Township at North Stiles Road at U.S. 31 10" I am confused, where is this?NOTE: At the corner of US10 and Stiles, by Grassa's. The road carries a shared designation from the expressway to the split north in Scottville.

The main problem is the speed limit from PM Hwy to Brye road, which is 55mph. Look at how many people drive 35-40 in the fast lane in that area looking for businesses or whatever. That's a traffic ticket itself and causes alot of accidents. Drop the speed limit in that area and that should help. Next, there needs to be a left turn arrow on westbound US 10 onto southbound PM hwy. Last, why can't you drive in the city without stopping at every traffic light? Time the traffic lights better. Many cities do it, why can't the traffic engineers in this county able to do that? NOTE: The lights downtown used to be timed, now they have sensors which are supposed to monitor the flow of traffic better.
