I just watched the video. Watching what the police went through to put up with that jerk they should have tased him 20 more times. The wife is an enabler, in trailer trash talk, that means she has to put up with his sorry ass and try an defend him, even though he probley beats her and the kids. Putting that video up on the web waqs the best thing that she could have done. Case Closed

Are you kidding me? Since when don't you have to obey the law? This was taught in elementary school, behave, obey the law, and act like a human, simple to follow. Tase him again for disturbing everyone's peace!

The fault lies with the guy who along with his wife showed absolutely no sense. At any given time he could have stopped the altercation and simply complied with the officers. If after doing as he was told, he felt he had a legitimate complaint as to how he was treated or spoken to, there are acceptable ways in which to file a complaint. But, he chose to be the tough guy and wasn't going to let anyone tell him what to do and with the support of his foolish wife, he turned the simple traffic stop into an extended jail sentence. You showed them! Support you? I think not, you're lucky you only got what you did, the officers displayed a great deal of restraint and professionalism. You did the crime, now do your time.

Mr. Williams is clearly a DUMB ASS! The police gave many orders and chances for him to comply. But what did he do continue to swear at the officers and RESIST their commands. His wife (I can not believe that she was saying now that he was treated badly) is heard telling him numerous times to comply. He is a drunk and a bum and I hope he enjoys his time in the jail.

I watched the video. What upset me the most was the , The Ludington Daily News glorified this mans ignorance. You write this whole artical about it you wasted your time writing it. You spend your time trying to make a name for yourself by writing articals about local news. This is rediculous. This man only wanted as many people as possible to be on his side and you gave him the perfect outlet. An artical in the news paper. This man was rude crude and disrecptful to those men and women who everyday protect us everyday. Who catch the men and women who commit murders drug deals and rapes in our town and you gave some pathetic man the oportunity to try and make those men and women look bad. He had every chance in the world to stop resisting. Everyone who commented was right. He deserves what he got but you The editor was wrong by even putting it in the news paper.

EDITOR'S NOTE. this story was placed on the web only, not in the newspaper.

Great Job Oceana County!!! If I was in the Deputies shoes the one thing I would have changed was the amount of time the Deputy stayed nice and calm. Nelson is obviously a waist to society and should have been charged a lot harsher then he was. Nelson states that he almost died. I didn't hear that did you? He wouldn't shut up long enough to die. To the editor. I understand you did not publish this in the paper and for that I commend you. Why waste a perfectly good paper on trash like this. I now see that WZZM has this same info. I hope that they will not waste air time like you guys chose not to do. I now hope the public sees what our Sheriffs Offices deal with on a daily basis. Keep up the good work guys.

After reading the comments posted, I do not need to watch the video. I don't have a lot of faith in our judicial system and wish penalties for people acting like Mr. Williams were more stringent. It's really too bad that he got off so easy.
