Comments are moderated on a daily basis.I'd prefer a pedestrian path that ran from Jebavy behind Kuntry Kubburd across the MC Airport to the Fairgrounds to Meyers. From there you could get to the access road that runs from Wal-Mart to Lowe's then build a path from there to Meijers'. That would get all walkers, bikes and mopeds off dangerous US10.
I like the idea of getting pedestrians off Jebavy Drive, esp. little babies in strollers and runners, which are far too many in high traffic conditions during summer months. As for cars, dittos too. That US-10/Jebavy intersection is very dangerous and busy.
I think a traffic study would indicate that there is not a lot of traffic that goes directly from the PM HWY to North Jebavy and vice versa, so there would not be the justification for this high cost project. Consider the low number of 'cheaters' that use the current bypass (south Jebavy- behind Shop & Save). Note also that the increased volume/wait times at the US 10-PM HWY intersection from the addition of a new roadway, would cancel out many of the perceived benefits for those wanting to go east from Jebavy. Plus as Snide and Eddie have discussed, this would make a nightmare for the increasing volume of pedestrian and bike traffic trying to get through this area. Any proposed bypass NEEDS to address that topic with a valid solution. The County Govt. has been too covetous with the airport and fairgrounds to even consider allowing a safe path around those areas for peds and bikers. Now they're proposing further hazards for them.
