Sorry, but the law allows the sale of fireworks now. So it's okay for people to buy them , but not be able to use them...?.....

I believe its against the city noise ordinance...it makes sense. I guess I dont see what is so hard to understand about it.

snide...the new law allows you to use them the day before, the day of, and the day after the holiday. NOT every single night, all night long, all summer long. THAT is the problem. The next time I have a neighbor wake me up after midnight with that crap, I am going to pull into their driveway and blast my horn at 4 am on my way to work and see how they like being woken up. It isn't just the question of "are fireworks legal", it comes down to "disturbing the peace".

I also think it's disturbing the peace! I have 4 kids, 2 under the age of 2 and the whole week they were awoke from sleep because some jerk wants to throw an M80 at 1am!!!!! How is that enjoyable? It's just a loud noise!!! Not pretty like a firework. Do it at 1pm! We had people in town for the 4th and decided to walk downtown to show them the night life and they were actually uncomfortable walking through our neighborhood because of all the fireworks. They commented it sounds like we are in a war zone! And these are people from Detroit!!!!!!! Come on people, use common sense!!!!

In time, the hoorah will die down. We just got them back, after 30 years! What did you think would happen? It will be SOP by next year, and people won't find them nearly as exciting. And the law does not designate a time for firework use. Their legal, and not just 72 hours a year.
