Eddie- WTH does that really matter? Honestly, is that your biggest concern? Wow, you never seem to stop amazing me.
Eddie, what does that question have to do with anything?
In the matter of the lawsuit filed against Sgt. Kim Cole. Sgt. Cole was ordered to stop that car by Detectives not because he had some personal vendetta for the person driving it. When you are ordered to make a stop you make a stop. It could have been any Deputy even then Deputy Jeff Fiers. Sgt. Cole followed orders given to him, he did them within the Laws of the State of Michigan it was investigated and Sgt. Cole was found to have acted within the law. In the matter of Department Morale the Sheriff should have his finger on the pulse of the Department so he is aware of the Morale. He needs to communicate with the people so he knows how things are going. Everyone on the road and Jail have very high stressed jobs. He needs to let them know he is concerned about them and their families. It has been a long time since the employees signed on in support of Sgt. Cole and Jeff still says he doesn’t know of any Morale problems. On the matter of State Inmates in our Jail. When I worked there we also had State Inmates. All Inmates must be treated the same. They are like having children, you can’t give or take away anything from them that the others have or do not have. They will rebel. If you give in to demands of one group you need to make it the same for all inmates. It is our Jail and the Sheriff can dictate to the DOC what type of inmates he will accept. Do you want hardened violent criminals from the large cities in your Jail? They have friends and family who visit and decide to move here so they can be closer to their friend or relative serving long periods of time in our Jail. They then decide to live here when they get out because they are known in their home towns and our area looks like they can take advantage of fewer police officers to keep them in line. In the matter of giving huge amounts of money back to the County. Did the Commissioners wonder why if they only approve budgets proven to be needed there would be so much money to give back? What are we going to find that has not been maintained? Is the Jail systems all in good working order? Have the scheduled maintenance on heating , cooling , fresh air units as well as others been completed as they should? The only fluctuations of money one should save or spend depending on population numbers at the Jail is: Medical care, Cost of meals and Laundry. The heating, cooling, fresh air systems, electricity, cleaning supplies and maintenance to the building should be consistent unless something fails and needs repair or replacement. It costs money to keep the facility in good working condition so you don’t have sudden expensive repairs to make. I was there and I think Sgt. Cole was the clear winner at the forum. I will vote for Kim because I feel proud of the Sheriff’s Office and especially the Jail. This is not a popularity contest it is an ability contest and Kim Cole has the ability to lead the entire Office back to what it was and forever should be. Robert Wilson Fountain
Eddie, you are just ridicules and who really cares what kind of car anyone drives, I just know Kim Coles years of experience as a front line supervisor and with all the extra education that he has over the years obtained is what makes him a good leader.
