Mother Nature casts her vote against this wind refinery.

I'm not sure how many others have seen the report a Manistee researcher compiled over the past two decades referencing the sour gas-line leaks, but the statement " It does not appear there was a fire and what may have appeared as smoke was likely a haze in the air." sounds similar to the official reports from local and state governments claiming there was no evidence indicating sour gas leaks when people self-evacuated, some going to the hospital emergency room. Why? Get this, when authorities/company reps. arrived "there was no indication of gas in the vicinity" therefore it didn't happen?!?! There are many of these shocking documented instances that have been ignored by those we elected to protect citizens of Mason County. This wind farm I see following suit... If you ignore it, it never happened... Mr Marvins statement recognizing a few complaints will probably always seem to be the case once this factory is fully functional. Why? Most living within the factory area signed contracts with gag clauses... They cannot publicly complain about anything! This includes 3 of Summit Townships elected officials on it's board. Township...

Dolores- pull your head out of the 19th century. Lightening did NOT strike.

First the 3 elected officials should be ashamed and step down from there positions as they are not able to represent the people that elected them in the first place, second rtepresentatives of the responding fire dept claim it was struck by lightning and it appears that Mr. Marvin is trying to avoid more controversy, this whole wind farm thing is a joke, all for the love of money.

Mike, I'm sorry however you were misinformed. Although I cannot say I represent anyone, I did hear radio traffic from that night. The caller that reported the incident claimed it was a lightning strike, that is what dispatch relayed to the fire departments. UPON ARRIVING at the scene, fire personnel reported to dispatch that there was no fire, and what "appeared" to be smoke. The turbine is still spinning and the light is still on. I apologize once again but you do not have all the information and all you are doing is misleading the public into thinking there's some sort of a conspiracy that our county officials are trying to cover up. Perhaps you should take your agenda against wind turbines some where else, maybe in a letter to the editor?

Jeanne, back in the 19th century we put up windmills responsibly and with full approval of our neighbors. The initial LDN story reported it as a lightning strike, and then later recanted the whole version, not making any sort of statement as to the original. How can Consumer's Energy flatly deny there was a strike, when reports said there was and say the 'smoke' was haze in the air? Localized haze?!
