With so many retired LPD officers in the mix on city council, it's no wonder the raises will probably offset the extra withdrawals in paychecks, and really, if the roles are for public safety, pride, serve and protect, who's getting the most protection? Nice year's end for the city council, more costs to the taxpayer as usual.

Wow Eddie, you are upset the officers are getting a possible raise, one of the first ones in a few years? Have you ever looked at a Police Officers Salary around this area? For what they deal with on a daily basis, to keep US safe, and you want to cry about them getting a raise? Also, what does your comment, "if the roles are for public safety, pride, serve and protect, who's getting the most protection" even mean? By saying that there are SO MANY retired officers on city council, which I believe is 3, "so many" then why wouldn’t they be getting a raise every year. It’s a shame that citizens would be upset because our local LE officer are possibly getting a raise added to their 35-45k salary a year.

I fully agree that our police are under paid and often over worked. Ed, you are walking proof that police are under appreciated. At least they work for their money, instead of sitting around and spending the last of mommy and daddy's money that they earned.
